Home – Virtual concert including world premiere

Our 2020-2021 season culminating virtual concert, Home, was released on Tuesday, June 15th. This virtual presentation features the world premiere of a suite of three new pieces by composer Steven Sametz, in addition to some old and new favorites. This project is a self-portrait; a snapshot of our year together in a virtual space, and the newfound significance of “home.”

One of the central elements of this concert is our commissioned suite by composer Steven Sametz, the Ronald J. Ulrich Professor of Music at Lehigh University and Artistic Director of the professional a cappella ensemble, The Princeton Singers. Members took part in this process by contributing their own reflections on the concept of home over the past year, which then served as text for these new works, making this concert especially personal and unique for us. The concert features works by Brahms, Dvořák and Stephen Paulus.
